VP for Student Services

Boomer ApplemanDr. Boomer W. Appleman joined San Juan College as the Vice President for Student Services in July, of 2018. In this position, he is responsible for leadership and guidance of Student Services to include strategic enrollment management, student support centers, financial aid, advising, counseling, testing, disability services, student development and leadership, and student housing.

Prior to accepting the position at San Juan College, he served as the Dean of Students at East Central University (ECU) in Ada, Oklahoma, for six years. During his nearly 20-year career in higher education, he also has served as a faculty member, Dean of Students, and as an Assistant Vice President for Student Development.

His experience brings a wide breadth of knowledge in strategic enrollment management, student affairs, case management, housing, and residential life.

Dr. Appleman holds an associate degree in Business Administration from Northern Oklahoma College, a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Oklahoma State University, and a master’s degree in Adult Education from the University of Central Oklahoma. Dr. Appleman earned his doctoral degree in Higher Education from Oklahoma State University.
